Built Around Combat Sports

Project XIII Media is a UK-based combat sports photography service specialising in kickboxing, martial arts and tournament photography.

Our approach is built around an understanding of the competition environment. Photographing combat sports isn't simply about reacting when something happens — it's about anticipating the exchange, understanding the movement and being in position for the moments that define an athlete's competition.

Behind the Camera

Project XIII Media was created from a passion for photography and combat sports, with the aim of producing images that athletes, families, clubs and organisers genuinely want to keep.

From fast-paced tatami action and athlete portraits to podium celebrations and the moments happening around the competition, the goal is to capture the complete story of an event — not simply the winning shot.

Experience Within the Sport

Project XIII Media brings first-hand experience of photographing kickboxing from grassroots competition through to major national and international events.

Since 2024, we have worked as an Official Photographer for Kickboxing GB, with coverage this year extending to the World Championships.

We have also been commissioned by ISKA England to photograph the Tatami English Open, with further events scheduled, alongside commissioned work for Fightwear Store.

This experience brings an understanding of the pace, positioning and demands of competitive kickboxing, particularly across tatami disciplines including Points Fighting, Light Contact and Kick Light.

More Than the Action

The biggest kick or decisive point might produce the standout photograph, but it's only part of the story.

The concentration before stepping onto the tatami. A coach giving final instructions. The reaction after a result. Families supporting from the side. The podium celebrations and atmosphere surrounding the competition.

Those moments are just as important, and they're a key part of how Project XIII Media approaches event photography.

Photography for Athletes, Clubs & Events

Whether you're an athlete looking for professional photographs of your competition journey, a club wanting high-quality imagery, or an organiser looking for complete tournament coverage, Project XIII Media provides photography built around the demands of combat sports.
